The question of whether Michael Jackson was a Muslim or not will soon be answered when he is buried.
I learned a long time ago to take with a grain of salt the stories of celebrities becoming Muslim. So when I heard years ago that Michael Jackson had become Muslim I didn’t really take it serious.
A couple of years ago a brother I know, who is not exactly known as a reliable source, told me he met Michael in Bahrain and that he is a Muslim. Allah knows best as to whether he is a Muslim or not we will find out for sure when he is buried; but I can definitely tell you when I was a kid he was definitely the number one star in America and the younger people of today don’t ever realize how huge he was.
Like a lot of other people I was turned off by his behavior with young boys later on in life and think he definitely had some mental issues. However, I think Hollywood is selective in who it condemns as it gave Woody Allen a pass after having sex with and marrying his adoptive daughter.
This is the video of his Muslim brother Jermaine where he says “may Allah be with you always”. This , along with the eye witness account of a brother I have spoken to and media reports leads me to believe Michael was a Muslim and Allah knows best.

If indeed he did convert, I hope Jermaine Jackson makes sure he receives a proper Islamic burial. I hope the rest of his family does not attempt to cover this up.

You’re a judgmental asshole. The things he “did” with children were accusations without any substantial proof. Those “abused” kids and their parents were just after money.
Yeah, he had “mental issues”…he was a very sad, lonely and misunderstood person who never had a normal childhood or adult life.

I agree, understanding human minds, and etc. Micheal Jackson, as a talented young boy after proving to his peers his singing talent, and after his father’s hope to be free from the finanal stress by being and keeping a mining job. His father seek that he can make his kids become successful by music. By this he harsly got the boys (Jackson 5) to practice long hours. His took away Micheal Jackson’s childhood. micheal says, “When I was a young boy during halloween i used to see the kids play, I wish I could have played with them.” Sofiya is right, people believe in the false and continue to support the false judgements. This saves false history to be passed. Micheal used to blame his lost of childhood on his father, maybe still did till death too. but his mother reminded Micheal that if it wasn’t for his father he would not be where he is now. Micheal wanted to have the childhood he missed, and people accused him of the crime, this put pressure on Micheal. Allah knows all things, and there is nothing that is not in Allah’s knowledge, Insha Allah may Allah show mercy upon him.

I agree with Sofia, those allegations were never proven. Infact, he was esp targeted after he had started spreading awareness abt global issue, such as, against racism, against war etc. He was the first African american to have so much power and influence. I think he was a victim of an unforgiving society who labels without a second thought. I don’t think he was weird. the more i see clips of him on tv the more i feel so sad at the fact his job and career was extremely hard. to maintain popularity he always had to be who the fans and crowds and the media wanted him to be any deviation from that “norm” was unacceptable to them. they take a few words and turn them into a disgusting story to destroy a man, but than again that is Hollywood for you. he was a victim of inhuman society who would just not let him be. Allah yerhamo, i think he was taken because this life was not for him anymore and at least he left with his dignity. he had pronounced his last tour and his fans came to him with open arms as if he was saying his goodbyes. it’s almost poetic.
i hope that he will be given the proper Islamic burial but in the end with Allah nothing is ever forgotten. if his family decides to hide it and Jermain is not capable of insisting n Michael having a proper Islamic burial it won’t matter to Allah’s will either way.

There is nothing wrong with being judgmental. We have been given the Quran and Sunnah to judge ourselves and to judge humanity with. Now, having said that, I never said he was guilty of molestation, because as you say there is no proof, and I agree with you that the parents were crazy, but that still doesn’t mean a grown man should be sleeping with kids that are not his.
However, at this point, as has been said the important thing is if he is a Muslim he be given a proper Islamic burial.

I kinda disagree with you Umar, I think at the point where humanity is even if we were given the Quran and Sunna to judge ourselves and judge humanity as you put it, i still believe at any point the only judge remains Allah and wehave no right to judge another human being because we forget our own faults just because they don’t seem to be at the level of others.
so whatever the case may be the man has past whether he became muslim or not, and whether he is a muslim and they don’t give him the proper burial rights i don’t think it proves anything. In the end he was a good man and performer and that is how he should be remembered.

How can you say doesn’t matter whether he was a muslim or a christian? From your name I suspect you are a muslim. Thus you should know that when you leave this world and face your lord, you won’t be asked about whether you were a legend or not rather you would be asked about your faith and about your actions. This will determine if you enter paradise or not. This world is nothing but delusion, past time and brief enjoyment. it is a teset for us. But the eternity afterwards is surely better for us.
Although I was a huge MJ fan, I really hope that he died as a muslim. It would be better for him.

Is it true that Allah chooses people to be Muslims? Or is it that He wants all of us to be Muslims? I am not saying that as a.. well in a negative side. I mean, surely it is up to Him to open your heart and show you the ways to Him, right? I know of people born Muslims but they sin in the most blatant ways. My personal belief is that God can do all wonders and if he chooses you, you will somehow be guided to Him.
Anyway, I think whether he died a Muslim or not, is his issue with God, not ours. Why not focus on our relationship with God instead?(:

It does matter to all the muslim and for that matter the entire world that he converted to Islam. The entire world should know that Islam is the only place where you can find peace and stability otherwise no matter how wealthy or famous you are (like MJ or Lara etc) you will find your mental and hearty calmness in only Islam.
May Allah bless him and may his family conduct his funeral according to Islamic proceedings.

Michael Jackson was a very nice and humble man..its obvious if you have viewed his interviews, it shows in each one. May Allah bless him if he really were a muslim, at least he was cleared of all his past sins the moment he entered islam, because if he werent, nobody knows exactly wad is waiting for him in alam barzakh. and yes i guess we all would know when it is time to bury him.
Also, yes there is no wrong in being judgemental, you are correct, and you never said he was guilty but you are clearly implying that he is. The mother of the man who accused MJ of molestation was caught shoplifting years before they accused MJ. The mother-son pair had a history of attempting to extort money off people and companies, along with prior criminal records. There is a LOT of context to the case that people who didn’t follow the case closely dare not aware of.
There is nothing wrong with sleeping in the same room and even bed with kids, and this is coming from a heterosexual, traditional woman. Western society deems it okay for rockstars to sleep with three naked women in a bed at the same time, but it’s not okay in their eyes to sleep in the same room with children reading story books and such (MJ did NOT sleep in the same bed, only in the same room). In MANY cultures and countries– Latin American nations and in the Indian subcontinent– Pakistan, India, Bangladesh- and in quite a few parts of the Middle East, it is commonplace for cousins, elders, friends, and little children to sleep in the same BED and it is not deemed indecent; again MJ didn’t even sleep in the same bed, but the concept is no different, and it’s innocent. MJ was very childlike. We should try to look at things as innocent at times, not immediately jump to the dirty conclusion.
Lastly it’s not right to pass judgment on someone if you were not present, especially after they have passed. A hadith said to make up 70 possible excuses for someone’s behavior before coming to a conclusion that he/she was guilty of wrongdoing.
I hope you will read and try to understand my points, instead of immediately thinking you are in the right and blocking out other views (as many Muslim men and even women tend to do unfortunately, not saying you). We must try to open our hearts and minds.

I am deeply saddened by the news of this loss. Michael Jackson was a legendary icon who felt like someone I’ve grown up with from childhood. His music influenced everything we hear today, the 1st black star to hit mtv, he was truly the greatest performing artist of my lifetime an there will be no other greater than MJ himself! Muslim or not, he deserves a dignified burial. Alot of jokes have been made already about his death, all I have to say upon this matter is what goes around, definatley does come around. Yet when the Angel comes to collect a soul, everyone seems in a state of shock as though their mission in life is to live on earth eternally? People run with tongue hanging trying to reach their oasis that appears in their desert, only to discover when they finally do approach it, that it was naught more than an illusionary mirage, and not even there. This is a similtude of life, people work with beads of sweat dropping, for the finer luxuries in life, they waste their lives on doing this only to finally realise that, naught of what they have materially, will lend a mustard seed worth of help to them in the end, but on the contrary will burden them with much weight, let us learn our True Goal and Path before the Angel of death takes our soul in a confused and begrudging state!!! There is a lot of info out there saying his a muslims and some deny it. We don’t know who to believe. But I always take myself onto people’s shoes. Just think a moment, if you are Michael, what will you do?

A Muslim Burial is not proof he is muslim or not. For many Muslims in America die as Muslims and their kafir familes bury them as Christians. Because they refuse to aceppt, their family member as a muslim or they are just jahil and dont know about Islamic Burial.
I know many brothers in NY who died and their family buried them as christians. So the Burial is not the proof he is muslim. You need not to talk from your own understanding. Because you are not from the Scholar.
I have witness a fiend of my family die ,on their death bed as Muslim. Saying the Shada and their family member refuse to accept this and bury them according to their culture. This does not mean he or she is a non muslim. And the Burial is not proof he or she is not Muslim.
For the King of Ethopic in the time of Prophet Muhammad sallahu wa alyhe wa sallam, died as a Muslim. The prophet sallahu wa alhe wa sallam pray Jannazh over him.
How did his people bury himo find out, how the people of his nation bury him. Does this mean he was not a muslim. Did not the prophet do janazah over him.

When I heard years ago that he had converted to Islam, I didn’t know whether to believe it or not. InshAllah he did convert and his sins are forgiven. I’m very sad about his death, but if he had accepted Islam then we should be happy that he died a Muslim. Like someone else said, I really hope he is given a proper Muslim burial. Alhumdulillah!! It is however confirmed that he had accepted ISLAM-The true religion. Since he believed and accepted that “there’s no god but Allah, and mohammed (S.A.W) is the messenger of Allah” it is the ONLY huge Achievement of his entire life(and hereafter). We all pray that he will be buried in an islamic way, rest is all upon Allah-The Almighty. I was never MJ’s fan, but knew very much about him. It is sad however I must say that unfortunately Muslim or not because of the laws of the united states unless Michael wrote in his will specifically that he wanted to be buried under islamic tradition and law then he will probably not be buried that way. Because his other family members are not muslim they do not understand the importance of the islamic burial and so will probably have him buried dressed in one of his famous suits and in a casket. They will not care if his face or his feet are facing the Kaaba. I know that in Juma namaaz today we should all have kept him in our prayers that if he truly was a muslim that he will not be punished for the ignorance of his family members.

I was also told that MJ went to Nation of Islam for protection. His brother Jermaine Jackson was wishful of MJ’s acceptance of Islam, meaning he was giving him loads of books to read about Islam and MJ was open to discuss about Islam but he did not profess it or perhaps it was in secret cause he was famous.
Whatever it is, we should pray that Almighty blesses his soul, cause no matter what faith you are, righteousness will be brought to your grave and your faith in God is utmost.
Heaven is at the mercy of Almighty Ilahi.
We are no god to judge a person if its an unbeliever, if they get to heaven or not, cause we don’t know our own fate to get in heaven despite all our good works.

Hmmm, I am sure anyone will be thrilled to know a person has became Muslim because of our teachings in the Quran
But the Holy Book says that not all Muslims will get to heaven, if their deeds are not taken care and their duty towards other mankind, be it Muslim and Non-Muslim.
If we were judgemental to MJ and restricted him from performing because he was Non-Muslim, We are truly sorry.
Being human beings, we kind of make judgement but may Allah forgive us for that.
As for MJ, be it Muslim or not Muslim, he did a lot of charity compared to any Muslim alive today.
Let us just pray for his soul and stop pushing it hard on wether he is Muslim or not.
To me, he seems to have a faith he professes that we shall respect without being bossy about his soul.

I’ve been a Michael Jackson fan for almost 20 years. I do not believe he actually converted to Islam and here’s why…
Michael Jackson was raised a Jehovah’s Witness and always held that denomination close to his heart. He did, however, have a strong interest in learning about other religions. He spent a few years with Rabbi Smuley Boteach and there were rumors that he was going to join Judaism. When he spent some time in the Middle East after his vindication, there were once again rumors that he had converted to Islam.
Michael seemed to subscribe to a spiritual view that transcended earthly religions. He saw the world in a more galactic view – where everything had its place and God was always in control. I don’t think participating in a specific denomination or religion was that important to him.
I remember when he appeared on Oprah several years ago and pointed out that he wanted to be like Jesus – a kind, loving person who brought joy and healing to all who knew him. I believe he reiterated those statements a few years ago in the interview “Living with Michael Jackson.”
It is my belief that Michael Jackson believed in an almighty God and it is my prayer that he is now at rest with him. Michael Jackson was a very lonely, tragic person and he deserves some peace.
Jermaine is a Muslim and has been for many years. When he said “May Allah be with you”, that is no different than me saying “Be with Christ.” It is more a reflection on the person making the statement than on the person it is directed towards. ;)

As a child, I remember my grandfather saying the most horrible things about Islam and Muslims.
He always resented the fact that my mother converted to Islam. He was angered even since his hatred against Islam only drove me and my other siblings away.
About three years ago, at the age of 84, he finally took his Shahada.
A year later, the Alztheimer’s that was creeping up on him for years finally took over. He doesn’t know up from down half the time.
I’ve been caring for him for the past 4 months. Before that, my mother cared for him for almost 2 years.
His “Christian” kid and grandkids don’t even call to see how he’s doing.
My grandfather didn’t have time to learn anything about Islam. He can’t even say Assalaamu Alaikum.
But if he can accept Islam, I believe just about anyone can.
MJ lived in a Muslim country for almost 4 years and had constant contact with his Muslim brother (whom, if you remember, was the first member of his family to publicly defend him back in 2005).
I want to believe MJ became Muslim, even if it was just a Shahada with sincerity but no knowledge. Not because Islam needs MJ, but because MJ needs Islam.
He really needs it now.
I bear witness there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, and I bear witness Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.

Michael Jackson’s contributions to the world can never be made by another individual, and it is true that the media picks who to condemn and who not to. I will not even play the race card in this situation, but MJ will be truly missed. People need to have some compassion he is human being that passed away at the age of 50. Michael was born into a Jehovah’s Witness family. I am Jewish, converted to Christianity when I was 23 . . . no particular church.
I baptized, finally, as a Jehovah’s Witness because of the rigorous bible education, and it is one of the very few Christian churches that doesn’t ascribe to the Trinity Doctrine.
My wife turned around at Kingdom Hall one day in South Philly (1988?), and there was Michael Jackson.
Michael Jackson was formally disassociated from the Jehovah’s Witnesses because of his lewd and questionable sexual practices (he was a pedophile).
As for Jackson’s religious affiliations at his death, for some reason he allowed Rabbi Schmuley into his life (a genuine jewish nutjob) and he shared Islam with his brother.
As far as any dedicated religious attachments, I think MJ just cruised through . . . you couldn’t pin him down.
His Will will discuss burial arrangements. So, we will just have to see if he has a Christian, or Muslim burial.

and the burial won’t mean anything. if anybody was influential enough to overturn attempts to have a muslim funeral for him, then he wouldn’t get the muslim burial. saw it happen before. and is probably happening to some converts whose family members are not muslim, sadly, or who nobody believed really converted or refused to believe.
And one thing over here that no one has mentioned yet: the Prophet does not like people who thnks the worst of people, and always thinks the best even if most evidence points to the contrary. it is too late to dig through my tafsir notes to see the source as i have about 67.034 notebooks but I remember that from class.

The prophet is called “Rahmatul lil ‘aalameen”, mercy to the worlds.
So we should wish the best for others.
There is a famous hadith which says “man la yarhum, la yurham”, meaning “he who does not have mercy, will not get mercy”.
No one aside from his close family can say what Michael Jackson’s status was regarding being a Muslim, but let us not wish bad for anyone or make light of their death. Allah does not like arrogant people, and for those who are Muslim and look down on non-Muslims, remember Islam i.e Iman (faith) is a gift from Allah which he can take away, so be grateful for it.

There are many famous people who converted to Islam. Even the likes of Marmduke Pickthall, who was held in high esteem by the likes of D. H. Lawrence, H. G. Wells, and Forster. There are records of him converting and accepting it. Even the general under Napoleon I of France converted to Islam and there are records of it. Cat Stevens, Jermaine Jackson and Kamala Das publicly professed their change of religion and continue to remain Muslims or died as Muslims (Das). There is a long list of Muslim converts on Wikipedia too, and there are official records of it in history, interviews in magazines or their own official statements recorded by the press (Ice Cube).
Apparently Cat Stevens gave him the name Mika’eel and Jermaine Jackson gave him the books. Both Cat Stevens and Jermaine Jackson seem to be very hush-hush about it. Simply because Jackson said “May Allah…” doesn’t mean Michael was a Muslim, it means Jermaine is a Muslim. Some say Jacko converted when his brother converted because his brother “invited him” to see the beautiful religion. At this point Islam was under the spot light and the Wahabbi non-sense of Saudi Arabia was being branded as “pure undiluted” form of Islam, so he probably wanted to show Jacko that he wasn’t converting into a monster. If you were a Christian, Jew, Hindu or Parsi, and your brother wanted to convert to a religion presently in controversy, you would have doubts about it, and your brother would do everything in his power to prove that the media is a hell hole that needs an enemy and many hopeless ideologies have simply tainted the religion. Reverse the situation and see it for yourself. If it was Christianity under the spotlight and you saw people cutting heads off screaming “Jesus Christ the Great” and the next thing you know your brother wants to be a Christian, wouldn’t you have doubts as to what type of Christianity he’s attracted to? Jermaine probably had to explain himself and his religion to show that it was peaceful and probably had to convince him that this didn’t mean the end of family. Even in Islam if you convert and your parents/family are still non-Muslims their value does not decreased. You’re still supposed to give them the same respect Islam demands you to, and you are still bound by the same duties towards your parents, and your parents still have a right on you, as far as they don’t ask something completely un-Islamic of you. Many people when they convert (to any religion) tend to abandon their families as if they were filth or simply because the conversion causes a fiasco. Jermaine has a big family, he probably had a lot of explaining to do.
And I really have to agree with what Ron is saying. You guys are so hypocritical. If he is buried as a Christian you’re probably going to think it’s some big controversy to hide the “fact” that he was Muslim. If Jermaine and Stevens are proud of being Muslim and want to tell the world it’s very normal then why did Jacko have to ‘hide’ it? Do Egyptian and Syrian actors hide their Muslim-ness even after they dance half naked on the TV screen? There are no records of ANYONE saying Jacko converted.
TIMES issued an article on Tony Blair where he said he bought a copy of the Qur’an and read it everyday before going to bed, and even asked Bono to read it because it helps create an understanding. Why? Because the Tony Blair got bit by the “Unite the World” bug. But Blair’s not a Muslim. Just because you read something Islamic doesn’t mean you’re Muslim. Jacko probably did it (No records, again) to see what his brother was getting into, just the same way Blair did it out of guilt (He was a bit of a git).
There are many Muslims out there (converted) who are doing great things but no one bothers about them. In fact, non-Muslim men like Swami Agnivesh (Hindu scholar/activist) are a greater boon to the Muslim community. And you seem to care about someone who was quite unhinged and has done nothing for the Islamic world except some pelvic thrusts and a promise to do it 50 more times in Europe. In fact, the only thing he did was have AEG invest millions for his supposedly over-the-top like-no-other dramatic and grand concerts. Where was all this hero-worship and activism and mania and generosity when real and good Muslims and non-Muslims were dying, and are still dying? Even if he converted, it may mean something for him, but it doesn’t mean anything for us because we’re still swimming in muck and our religion is still being attacked.
P.S. – If accusing him of molestation means judging and you’re not supposed to do that, then saying he was innocent (When you have no conclusive evidence of it) is also judging. Calling him insane is also not judging. If you called a rapist a rapist, you’re not judging you’re saying the fact with the proof. And even his closest friends say Jacko became weirder by the day and we saw it with our own eyes. So stop hero-worshiping him because there is a 1% chance he converted.

Wharsby-Ali has verified that the story was false and he did not attend a ‘conversion ceremony’ neither did Yusuf Islam.
Whether MJ embraced Islam in November is still speculation as only the papers reported it. The funeral will be the proof and his waseeya if he drafted one up on the advice of his brother

Imam Abu Hanifa was once asked by some one what he thought of the dispute between Imam Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and Mu’awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him), to which he gave a reply to the effect:
“Nu’man (i.e. Abu Hanifa) is too busy thinking about what he will be asked on the day of judgement to worry about others”

I truly feel we are being too critical about religion here.
Michael Jackson is a HUMAN BEING with a CREATOR who shall decide with full of grace compared to our human’s limited minds
God did not intend to claim only Muslims in heaven because looking at today’s world, deeds alone cannot guarantee our salvation to enter Heaven.
Can any Muslim here guarantee you are entering heaven? Guarantee that, then give your comment about other people of other religion’s faith.
The Quran specifically mentions that you are a Muslim with a criteria :
1. You BELIEVE IN GOD
2. You BELIEVE IN THE HEREAFTER
3. You BELIEVE IN ALL THE BOOKS (TORAH, INJIL, PSALMS & QURAN)
Read Surah Al Baqarah 2:62.
Can we then decide Allah was lying to us?
What is good religion if you do not practise righteousness amongst every Adam’s Children. Did not Allah create them as well?
If Allah wanted He would have made mankind born into ONE NATION – MUSLIM with ONE RELIGION.
SO if there is so many religions today with mankind of different colors and tongues, why are we Muslims being so JUDGEMENTAL to CLAIM ONLY MUSLIMS shall enter Heaven?
First, go and cleanse your own inner self and love ur Non-Muslim neighbours and stop calling KAFIR to Non-Muslims. You get them all wrong in interpretation and then claim Islam is pure. Return to the Quran in its pure meaning. You will see.
If we purify Islam today, you will realise that we Muslims are not Muslim enough to judge the Non-Muslims. (Muslim means SUBMISSION TO ONE GOD ALMIGHTY)
Jehovah Witness are also submitted to One God Almighty. I am very sure we Muslims don’t know about this. Go check google on their faith, then you shall see they are very much your brethrens in the belief, just as the People of the Book are, Muslim Brothers and Sisters.

Don’t you see there are some Muslims who study the Quran thoroughly and find lots of things that the culture of yesteryears have created enmity within other nations as result of their interpretations all these while. Man made opinions causes downfall if we do not hold on to the Kalam Allah.
We are the cause of our downfall. Wake up, My Muslim Brothers and Sisters. Wake up from deep slumber. Return to the Kalam. The true Word declares you are not to judge just as our Prophet Muhammad said in Surah 46:9
Say: “I am no bringer of new-fangled doctrine among the apostles, nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I follow but that which is revealed to me by inspiration; I am but a Warner open and clear.”

The Prophet even said he does not know for sure what is his fate in Allah Almighty’s hands and neither us. This you have to understand what he meant. He advises us to not be judgemental either but follow what truly is required in the Quran of its precepts.
It does not mean, by reciting the Shahadah, praying 5 times daily, following all the Do’s and Don’ts, pilgrimage, etc of the Pillars of Islam, one becomes Muslim. You judge for yourselves…Can it be done this way?
If you study the Quran, it talks in the whole 30 Juzu that Deeds, righteousness, charity is a scale for us in the hereafter to determine our fate to be in heaven. Even a prostitute entered heaven because she gave drink to a thirsty dog. And I know my many Non-Muslim friends are in heaven by faith in a Loving Allah who knows best than men.
Did it claim you only do all these love and support to fellow Muslims and treat as brethrens only Muslims, but not to the Non-Muslims? If you say yes, you are in yourself admitting to the world that we are not from Allah’s teachings. Cause Allah did not teach us to have good relations with Muslims alone. Oh Brother, you are missing that part. How wonderful is prayer cause its the communication with the Maker. But to talk to the Maker gracefully in humility to pray for a Non-Muslim is the most beautiful deed for us today, as Allah will see our LOVE for the mankind He created. I was amazed at a dear friend of mine who was catholic, who passed away last year. She was my best friend. But I used to visit her at her home. In her home, she would kneel everyday around 7pm to pray. In her prayer she will have a list of things to pray for. Guess what was in her list?
1. The World
2. Muslims and Jews
3. Mankind who are lost
4. God be merciful to all mankind to grant paradise for all, despite of faith and race and religion.
5. Guidance for her to be more loving to everyone
6. her parents and family
Did you see her list? And I asked her personally one day when I saw her list. Of course every week she adds on what to remember to pray for. I never judged her cause I saw her purity in her intentions (Niyyat). She said that she prays daily to be more loving to people around her cause that was what Jesus told her to do.
She was living the Christian thoughts she learnt. Why? Cause she simply did not believe she have the right to judge anyone. She truly wanted to ask God sincerely to save every mankind. She was hoping on something we are not sure of in the hereafter. She spoke of her hope to God. Did you see that innocence? I loved her best like a sister. She died at a young age in her sleep of heart failure. Don’t you think she was more righteous than you and I? I think she was a living Creation of good deeds. She is so scared when she sins e.g. lying to a friend. She tells me and she prays with tears. and she confronts the friend she lied to and confesses again and again and makes sure there is no enmity within her heart. I was shocked. I can’t find anyone like her in my community. Can we?
Ego is the culprit, and the thought that we are superior to all other religion, makes us forget our true deeds to focus on and love for mankind itself is not in our hearts anymore. So proud we are, I would say. That is where we are wrong. Cause Allah says salvation is at His mercy. He chooses whom He will give paradise and whom he will throw into hellfire. Did we forget that?

Would any God like to see how we are all clamoring to be one up against each other, for something we will never truly know?? Faith is after all not about ‘ seeing is believing’ but believing regardless of everything.

I think he was when he died. But I still don’t see why that is a big deal for his family. They should respect the fact that he did change his religion and honor his memory. What people seem to forget is when Micheals body is buried then his soul will return to his body and he will see two angels coming towards him named Munkir and Nakir and those angels will not care how many hits he had or who loved him. A source close to the Jacksons has exclusively revealed to X17 Online that family will likely have a traditional Muslim burial for late Michael Jackson. “The family is considering following the Muslim burial traditions because they believe Michael would have wanted to be laid to rest in keeping with his new-found religious beliefs,” says the source.
“Michael’s brother Jermaine is educating the family as to the special rites because he feels it’s important to bury his brother according to the Muslim way,” adds the source. Despite earlier reports that both public and private memorial services for the late music performer have been set to be held this week, there has been no official confirmation just yet from Michael’s family on the location where his body will be laid to rest.
Michael Jackson was reported converting to Islam in late 2008, years after expressing his interest to join the faith. He later on changed his name into “Mikaeel”, which was meant as a reference to the name of one of Allah’s angels.
In Muslim burial, per X17 Online, someone’s body “has to be cleaned, but ideally not embalmed, and wrapped in a white sheet, and it must be buried facing Mecca. The kind of funeral Michael Jackson has will not prove whether or not he was a Muslim.
1) His will (which may have been written and not revised after any conversion) may well dictate the details of his burial.
2) His family may decide how he is buried. There are plenty of Muslims with non-Muslim families who have not been buried in a Muslim way – and have even been cremated because the family decided how things would go. After you are dead, you lose that power.
3) Converts often don’t have a good understanding of the details of a Muslim funeral. It’s something they read about in a book, but often have never participated in or seen – so even his brother may not be a good guide in this regard.
Whether he was Muslim or not is between Michael Jackson and Allah.

Yea, I think this rumor finally can be put to rest. Michael Jackson was not a Muslim. Jermaine Jackson was on Larry King live last night and when asked if this would be a religious funeral he said “NO”. Now if he was a Muslim surely that would be the case.
I think this just adds to what some people have been saying but many here trying to deny. Michael never really belonged to any religion. What he believed we will not know until the end.

As for Micheal, yes he was a Muslim, he became one in 2005, and what his family is doing is okay. Since, 1, he was a public figure, and 2, it is mention in the book in the Koran, known as “The Cattle”.
That if a man is the youngest and dies first, his family may bury him as they choose as long as they pray to God and let the public mourn. As for me, I am a geek, and damn proud of it for a woman.

I am deeply saddened by the news of this loss. Michael Jackson was a legendary icon who felt like someone I’ve grown up with from childhood. His music influenced everything we hear today, the 1st black star to hit mtv, he was truly the greatest performing artist of my lifetime an there will be no other greater than MJ himself! Muslim or not, he deserves a dignified burial. Alot of jokes have been made already about his death, all I have to say upon this matter is what goes around, definatley does come around. First of all a soul departed, so lets pray he rest in peace. Now it doesn’t matter if his body is buried with Muslim tradition or Christian tradition. One gentle man above wrote that it matters as Allah will ask about your faith, a simple question here if Allah wants everybody to be follower of Islam why he allowing births in other religions or simply why don’t he wipe out other religions. He is greatest and can do anything. This means religion doesn’t matter to God, Allah whatever you may call him. Micheal may have converted but his last will was too old from 2002 , so his burrial details were not in it – but I think there was ample evidence he converted
Even if not he was a good man may the higher power have mercy on his soul , who will the higher power grant heavens or hell is no one’s decsion all we can do is do good to people.

I believe that a Muslim is to be buried within 24 hours, correct? Michael was buried today, a full week later.

michael was very meticulous about the details. had he converted, his memorial would have indicated it. it was decidedly Christian without an Imam in sight. also check out his prayer with andre crouch 3 weeks before his death. praying for the anointing of the Holy Spirit is very much Christian. if mike was muslim, jermaine would have made sure that he was memorialized as such as well. let it go my fellow brothers of color and seek truth rather than being right.

Listen all you people he will remain the king of Pop. If he converted he should have used his name Meekail rather than Michael. Because unfortunately westerners does not care which religion you belong as this is between God and the person.
But the fact is it is only Jesus who is alive and is sitting on right hand side of the Father and remember there is no Salvation except Jesus Christ. And Im sure Michael knew this fact.

I am also interested to know Michael Jackson is Muslim or not. but lot of UK online newspaper and blog confirm last year Jackson changed his name to became a muslim. I read this artical few month back in a Bangla News paper but i dont know the real fact. May be Jackson familly and near friend can ensure this things.

It’s important to kow if Michael died as a Muslim because the Qur’an prohibits the Muslims to pray for the salvation of people who die as non-Muslims. The story of Abu Talib, the prophet’s uncle , who died as a non-Muslim and as a result of which the Prophet (pbuh) couldn’t pray for his salvation, is very well known among Muslims. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was greatly saddened by his demise as he died without embracing Islam though he remained the Prophet’s staunch supporter throughout his entire life. Also the stories of Prophet Ibrahim (as) and Prophet Nuh (as) who tried to pray for their non-believing relatives – Ibrahim AS for his father and Nuh AS for his son – but were told by Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala not to do so, and so these prophets had to repent for praying for their non-believing relatives. This however does not prevent us from praying for the guidance of non-Muslims while they are still alive, and we should pray for them all the time if we are seeking anything good for them, for what better gift to give a person than the gift of Islam which will eventually take him to Heaven, insha Allah!

I can confirm from 2 reliable sources that heard Jermain Jackson state MJ became Muslim. They were both invited back in May 09′ to make Umrah, all expenses would be paid for both brothers. MJ stated he would not be able to come for Umrah because he would be on tour, he was in serious debt and was going to pay off his debts with the profits from the Tour. The tour was called ‘This is it!’ because MJ was going to start a new chapter and change his life after the tour. Unfortunately, he passed away. Had he lived he would have had a greater impact on many. This isn’t a rumor this is first hand information.

I am truely very sorry about Micheal. He spent his last days alone and unhappy. He was so childish that he couldn’t grow up. He thought all children were his friends, and they don’t judge him. He was created to dance and sing, he was the most talented person of last years on the Earth and I don’t think it will change in the years ahead of us.
Except for the time he was on stage, he was just a child. He believed Allah sent him to help children and heal the world.
But I believe Allah is merciful and will help him at his tomb, Allah will show him mercy and he will have the life he always wanted and tried to reach, but couldn’t success. He will never be alone there, he can be a child there.
May Allah be with you, Micheal, that’s all I can say.

O pretty pretty please people, Michael was definitely NOT a muslim. He had a gold coffin, pastors speaking and praying to the heavenly father and they are taking donkey years to bury his nody… muslims have to bury fast. He is in heaven with Jesus. the one who gifted him with all these talents. I will see him there one day.

I’m not worried about who or what Michael believed in when he died – the fundamentals are all the same when you break it down.
I just hope that he did in fact believe in something and found inner peace before he died.
Such a troubled life. Such a brilliant person. Such a great loss to the world we all struggle within.

Yes, I agree with hafsa, since to this date non of news include the memorial is prooven that MJ will be burried follow the Muslim tradition. But I strongly beleived he was Muslim. Most probably it was true that the family exclude Jermaine didn’t accept the reality and decided what kind of funeral they will perform according to their family culture.
What ever happen, event the body have being cremated, or burried with his stunning bling-bling stage performance outfit, with his sequins glove, it’s doesn’t ,matter. If he died as a Muslim he will be perform to Allah as a Muslim. And this is Allah promise as we could not stand our own right when we already gone.

RE: Child-Abuse Allegations
Just browsing through and came across this…I thought it would be important to point out the following:
If one takes a closer look at the transcripts of MJ’s 2005 court case, it is apparent that the child’s parents were just after money.
1) Actor/ Comedian George Lopez also testified that he spent alot of time with Gavin Arvizo while he had cancer and would often donate money to the family. George Lopez then pointed out that the boy’s father then began calling him repeatedly to ask for donations and charity. It got to a point where Gavin Arvizo’s father even accused George Lopez of stealing $300 dollars from the boy on a day out, and then tried to extort money from the actor.
2) Jay Leno alluded to a similar experience with the family, especially with the boy’s mother.
3)All the other children that stayed with Michael at the same time that Gavin was there testified that nothing ever happened.
4) Jordan Chandler, the first boy who claimed to be molested by Michael Jackson in 1993 eventually came forward and stated that he lied because his “father wanted the money”…
MJ had his issues, but from a purely Psychological perspective, and after reading rather intensly into the details into his life, I personally believe the allegations were false.
But let the man RIP. Allah SWT knows.

Whether Michael was Muslim or not it is not important. It is important that he was good person with open and golden heart, always willing to help others. Do you know how many other celebrities helped disadvantageous people and children than Mike?? How much money they spend on charity, not even close to compare with Mike? Mike was an exceptional person with exceptional qualities that should never be forgoten. It wasn’t easy for Mike to cope with all false alegation against him. How people pay to him for his kindness, they should be shame.
Dear Michael, at least you can rest in peace now. They will not be able to hurt you more.
Finally, I am happy that you have your children, and I beleve that they will follow your step but they need to be more caucious than you were.

I truly agree with Hafsa. I liked Michael Jackson alot. I grew up with his music. I already loved Michael long before I heard the rumors about him being a muslim. To me, Michael has done a great job in entertaining people on earth. I don’t know whether it’s true or not that Michael is a muslim, it’s not us to judge. If he’s really a muslim, then Alhamdulillah. It means that we (the muslim fans) can continue to pray for him as a proper muslim. But if he’s not, well, I still love him because of his work. Stop quarrelling people!!! We live on ONE same planet. Let’s just stop fighting over religion and keep on loving.
